Ryan Dempster had another bad outing and left after five innings with his team down 5-3. Reed Johnson tied the game with his second home run of the season in the sixth. Johnson pinch hit for Dempster and hit a two-out, two-run shot off Ricky Nolasco that took Dempster off the hook. Marlon Byrd broke the 5-5 tie in the eighth with his first home run and RBI since May 4 ... and Jeff Baker gave the Cubs a little breathing room later in the inning when he plated pinch runner Tony Campana on a fielder's choice ground out to third.
