Sporting News staff reports Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez is expected to exercise his $20 million player option for the 2010 season, according SI.com. After a disappointing 2009 season (.290 average, 19 homers, 63 RBIs) that included a 50-game suspension, Ramirez likely wouldn't be able to get a better deal than the one provided by his option. This was the first season since 1994 that Ramirez failed to reach the 20-homer plateau, and his RBI total also was his lowest since that season. Ramirez hit only .218 in his final 25 games and didn't homer after Sept. 18.
