Mets Merized Online:
What a beauty of a cover and an instant Mets collectible for all you die-hards out there. Get is signed, get it framed, I know I will.
Matt harvey has gone from New York sensation to a National sensation in less than a half season worth of starts.
SI.comâs Tom Verducci, calls Harvey:
âThe most fascinating young power arm in baseball.â
âIn an era dominated by pitchers, Matt Harvey has the ferocity of stuff and of will to rise above all of them,â writes Verducci who says Harvey has been groomed to become a great power pitcher with disciplined mechanics by his father, Ed, who coached Matt in high school in Connecticut.
On Sunday, Harvey told Steve Serby of the New York Post that his goal is not just to be the best, but to be a role model for kids.
âI love the little boy thatâs in the stands and wants to be like you. I was that boy. I want to be a role model for those kids. I donât want to be mediocre. I want to be one of the best and somebody that a lot of people look up to.â
BEST OF MAXIM
Sports Illustrated has dubbed Mets Ace Matt Harvey as "The Dark Knight Of Gotham."
Harvey, who was named NL pitcher of the month for April will grace the cover of SI this week.

The irony of Matt Harvey pitching on Motherâs Day, because Harvey is one bad mother(shut your mouth!).

METS CANâT AFFORD TO WASTE HARVEY (AP)
Terry Collins said the Mets are a different team with Matt Harvey, and that he gives them a presence a chance to win once every five days.
That makes it is especially troubling when they waste one of his starts, as they did in Sundayâs 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Harvey, who flirted with perfection in his previous start Tuesday...
With Matt Harvey on pace for over 200 innings pitched, is it possible the New York Mets will shut him down early?
Chances are heâll be doing his best Stephen Strasburg impression by the seasonâs end.

When youâre fading fast and itâs not even June, you celebrate the little things. For the Mets, that would be Matt Harvey on the cover of this weekâs Sports Illustrated.
HARVEY: No jinxes please.
Harvey won his first four starts, but has no-decisions in his last four. He has a Major League-best 1.44 ERA and is scheduled to start Friday in Chicago against the Cubs.
Where would this team be without Matt Harvey?
Is it safe to say that as of this moment, the only proven and legit core player under the age of 30 this team has is The Dark Knight of Gotham?
I like Jon Niese a lot, but is he a core player? Or just an number three pitcher who plays the role of an ace on a very bad team?
I quickly threw some numbers into a spreadsheet and I canât...
TweetWhy even bother to recap or preview Met games this year? It pretty much is the same old story day in and day out (except with a slight possibility that the team stays in the game with Matt Harvey on the mound). Instead, we at MetsFanClub.com created a quick and easy template to use that will surely save bloggers countless hours of useless game recapping copy:
Before the first...
Usually, it isnât until after the All Star break, when we need to combine series to come up with 3 Ups and 3 Downs. This week was an exception with the Mets winning 2 out of 6 games against the Chicago White Sox & the Pittsburgh Pirates. Unless the Met offense wakes up real soon, weâre going to be in for a long season. Sorry to say, a first baseman batting .190 in the middle...
PRETTY IN PINK?
The Mets were beaten by the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 3-2 this afternoon in front of a nicely packed Motherâs Day crowd at Citi Field.
Matt Harvey started and while he pitched good enough to win, he wasnât at his best and he seemed to rely mostly on a variety of breaking balls and off-speed stuff rather than his usual 95-98 mph fastball. He tossed...
When the New York Mets decided to shut down Matt Harvey after only ten starts last season, baseball fans across the borough of Queens must have had that uneasy part of deja vu that nobody likes. Understandably, the Mets brass were hesitant to allow their young right-hander to pitch beyond the 59 plus innings that he had already worked, coupled with the teamâs recent inability...
When New York Mets young ace Matt Harvey looks in for the signs from catcher John Buck he will see pink.
Buck will wear pink reflective stickers on his fingernails Sunday to honor breast cancer survivors on Mother's Day.
Catchers often paint their fingernails white to make it easier to decipher the signals they are giving for a particular pitch. Buck prefers the stickers from...
Well, that was wild.Â
There were a lot of ways that the Pirates could've lost this Sunday afternoon game against the Mets. They had a chance to really deliver a knockout punch to Matt Harvey in the second when Clint Barmes lead off the inning with his second homer (his first homer was against Stephen Strasburg, go figure) and then they loaded the bases up with just one out...
You have to feel good about the Bucs taking winning on a day their spot starter went against an ace on the road, and thatâs exactly what happened on Sunday afternoon as they finished off a series victory in New York.
Phenom Matt Harvey had a solid afternoon, but was far from dominant. After the Bucs fell behind early, they answered with a home run in the third inning by Clint Barmes...
Matt Harvey flip flopper Mike Francesa ripped the Mets today. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

I guess the Pirates owed the universe one after Jonathan Sanchez beat Kris Medlen and Jeanmar Gomez beat Matt Harvey.
Marco Estrada's biggest problem this year has been giving up home runs. The Pirates didn't hit any tonight.
Gah. The Pirates being unable to beat the Brewers is the most annoying thing in sports.
