If you bought tickets to tonight’s game hoping to see Matt Harvey’s last start of 2012 like I almost did, you’re probably going to be disappointed.
Tonight’s scheduled game between the Mets and the Phillies has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Thursday night at 7:10 p.m. According to the Mets’ official Twitter account, tickets for tonight’s game...
Wins and losses mean absolutely nothing to me right now, as they are a footnote to what has become the worst finish to a Mets season in recent memory.
Last night, after Harvey struck out Carlos Ruiz to end the seventh, it was the exclamation point to what was the first little sampling of what should be a very promising career for this young and talented righthander.
The New York Mets extended their home losing streak to eight games on Wednesday night after being defeated 3-2 by the Philadelphia Phillies. New York is now 4-23 at home in the second half, and making matters worse, they extended their miserable franchise record of having scored three runs of less at home to fifteen consecutive games. Let’s not forget. The loss also marked...
Hello and welcome to another sunny day of Mets baseball! Last night’s game with the Phils got rained out so Matt Harvey is making his last start of the 2012 season tonight against Cole Hamels. On Monday, R.A. Dickey allowed home runs to Jimmy Rollins and Dominic Brown and was denied his 19th win of the season. New York’s offense only scratched one run across against Cliff Lee...
After last night’s rainout, Matt Harvey makes his last start of the season as the Mets try to even the series with the Phillies at 7:10 PM tonight.

The Mets wasted a brilliant start by rookie Matt Harvey and dropped their eighth straight home game in a crushing 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at Citi Field.
Harvey looked like he was in for a long night after allowing a leadoff solo home run to Jimmy Rollins to give the Phillies a quick 1-0 lead. But the kid turned it up ten notched and would not allow another...
In a season with the Mets taking many punches to the gut, Wednesday’s night’s loss may have been the most difficult to absorb.
Sure, the games don’t mean a whole lot now considering the Mets don’t have any playoff implications on the line, but on a night when Matt Harvey was masterful and with David Wright hitting the go ahead home run in the 6th inning, it would be have...
In his final start of the 2012 season, Matt Harvey pitched the type of game Mets fans have come to expect from him. David Wright followed it up with a tie-breaking home run in the sixth and for a few brief hours in another lost September, Mets fans got a pretty great glimpse of what the future could look like.
But one big blast from a long-time nemesis brought reality screeching...
NEW YORK -- Ryan Howard has been battling thoughts lately of trying to do too much in one at-bat. For most of Wednesday night, the Philadelphia Phillies' slumping first baseman acknowledged he had trouble doing anything. He had been "chasing the fastball" from New York Mets rookie starter Matt Harvey unsuccessfully, continuing a homer-less September through a 0-for...
