New York Mets starter, Jenrry Mejia, made his first start in over two years versus the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.  The 22-year-old right hander lasted just three innings while allowing five runs on six hits:

Following a 13-pitch third inning, Mejia was un-albe to hold on to a three-run lead as the Brewers tagged the 22-year-old for four runs in the bottom half of the fourth, en route to a 9-6 victory over NY. Mejia was chased from the game before he could record an out, walking Nyjer Morgan to start the frame, a bunt single by Brewers rookie Jean Segura, and  a two-run, pinch-hit triple by Logan Schafer before walking Norichika Aioka on five pitches.  Following the walk, Mejia was relieved by Jeremy Hefner, who picked up were he left off.  Hefner threw a wild pitch — allowing Schafer to score from third — before Rickie Weeks deposited a 1-2 fastball over the left-field wall to give Milwaukee a lead they would not relinquish.

Mejia fell behind to 14 of the 19 batters he faced, to which manager Terry Collins simple stated, “His command was off. It’s tough to pitch up here behind in the count.”

THE DUDE: Lucas Duda collected two hits in five at-bats, including an RBI single in the first.  It was his third straight multi-hit game and fourth in his last five starts.  He is 9-for-20 with three doubles, a homerun and five runs batted in over that stretch and is hitting .367 for the month of September.

IKE IKE BABY: Ike Davis blasted his 27th home run of the season — a two-run bomb — drilling the first pitch he saw from Brewers reliever John Axford in the top of the ninth.  Davis finished the game, 3-for-4 with a double and a homer, lifting his season average to .225 in the process.  After a dismal start to the year, the Mets first baseman is hitting .251 since June (78-for-310) with 21 homeruns and 55 runs batted in:
