The New York Mets have unveiled the logo for the 2013 All-Star game and attached the insignia to the center-field scoreboard at Citi Field.
Mets stars David Wright, Johan Santana, R.A. Dickey and manager Terry Collins were joined by former Mets Dwight Gooden, Keith Hernandez, John Franco and Ron Darling at Tuesday's ceremony.
The logo for the game next July is similar to the Mets' symbol, in blue and orange with a bridge spanning a city skyline that represents all five boroughs.
Wright thanked Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon and the team for moving in the fences this year at the spacious ballpark, saying it would help at the All-Star Home Run Derby.
''It would've been unprecedented to have to hit from second base,'' Wright quipped.

Mets Minors: Brandon Nimmo beginning to look like a solid draft pick
When Sandy Alderson and company selected Brandon Nimmo with the Mets first round (13th overall) pick in the 2011 draft it was hardly a slam dunk. This is because Nimmo’s home state, Wyoming, might have a higher population of endangered American Buffalo than high-school athletes. (Also… Wyoming is pretty cold). Nimmo’s talents were only truly put on display with his play...
Harvey Is A Different Kind Of Mets Pitching Prospect
When asked about the difference between facing Triple-A and major league hitters, Mets starter Matt Harvey said:
“When you make a mistake, they hit it. Down there you can get away with some stuff. Not all the time, but more often than not. Up here, you’re going to make a mistake, they’re going to hit it. They did. I just have to do a better job.”
I really love how Harvey...
Another One Bites The Dust: Tim Byrdak
Mets left-handed reliever Tim Byrdak, aka The Byrdman, aka Hulk Hogan, was placed on the DL friday with a sore shoulder. Ok, no problem. Like most Mets fans, I figured he was bound to wind up there with a dead arm at some point this year consider how much this guy is used. But when the results of an MRI showed a torn anterior capsule of his left shoulder, I was angry.
When...
MMO Fair Or Foul: Phillip Evans Might Never Make It?
From time to time I will check out other Mets websites, and blogsites. I have as they say, some “friends in the biz,” and I enjoy seeing what they’re up to on occasion.
Today I was on Mack’s Mets and I saw something there, an opinion by a “scout,” about one of our Mets farmhands, and I have a real problem with what I saw. I really don’t know what kind of scout this...

Mets Hit Rock Bottom (Hopefully) in Fish Laugher
This is what it has come to for the New York Mets.
A season that started with such promise reached its lowest point of the season thus far on Wednesday as the Mets were trounced by the Marlins, 13-0 at Citi Field.
Mets starter Chris Young was burned by the long ball and surrendered three bombs to the Marlins, including two by All-Star Giancarlo Stanton. The Mets bullpen fared no...

Mets News and Notes:
The Mets, who had an 0-6 homestand before embarking on a three-city trip, now have lost eight straight at Citi Field. That is the team’s longest home losing streak since also dropping eight straight at Shea Stadium in September 2007.
Lucas Duda appears to be heating up with Buffalo. After going 3-for-25 in his first six games following a demotion, Duda has...
Forget About The Change-Up…Give Em The Heater
It’s 5:20 PM, and it’s the bottom of the fifth inning of the New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres game. This is the first time I have ever started to write anything before a game was finished, but I have to get this off my chest.
Why are the Mets insisting on Matt Harvey throwing so many change-ups?
I don’t see the logic. I see the logic in the change-up, just not in the way...

Playing with a wrap on his sore right hand, Reyes sent a shot into the second deck in right field Wednesday night against New York Mets starter Chris Young. The first-inning drive put Miami ahead, and teammate Giancarlo Stanton added...
