I’m willing to guess that a large percentage of you don’t, so let me get you caught-up with a few “Quick Facts”.
2002: Selected as a stud pitching prospect by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1st round (4th overall) in the First Year Player Draft.
2002 – present : Was and remains as the highest drafted Canadian born player to be selected by any Major League Baseball franchise
2004: Slated as the best Orioles prospect by Baseball America
2006: threw 3 2/3 shut-out innings against a powerful team USA in the World Baseball Classic
2007: Suffered a stress fracture in his pitching elbow that forced an end to his pitching career
2008: Released from contract by the Baltimore Orioles
2008: Signed by the Toronto Blue Jays – as a 1B/OF
2009: Was assigned to the Dunedin Blue Jays in the minor leagues
