Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s game against Syracuse was postponed after a power failure hit the Syracuse area. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 12th. AA: Trenton Thunder
Thunder ace Vidal Nuno took to the mound tonight, and was dealt his second loss of the season after allowing three runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings. However, it was Graham Stoneburner who really got roughed up. In his first appearance since May 11, Stoneburner was tagged for five runs (three earned) on six hits while recording just one out. Offensively, Rob Segedin turned in his best performance yet since his promotion to Trenton almost two weeks ago. The 23-year old Jersey native turned in a 3-for-4 performance tonight, including one of Trenton’s two RBIs. Shortstop Yadil Mujica turned in the only other multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 out of the ninth spot in the lineup. David Adams had the Thunder’s only other RBI, a line drive single in the sixth inning. High-A: Tampa Yankees
Ramon Flores and Kyle Roller led the Yankees offense with three hits a piece, including three RBI for Flores and a solo home run for Roller. Adonis Garcia also pitched in with a 1-for-4 day and an RBI as Tampa downed St. Lucie 8-2. Shane Greene started for Tampa and earned his third win of the season. Greene pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He also struck out six hitters. However, Greene also exhibited some command issues as he walked six batters as well. The bullpen would close out the game with 3.1 scoreless innings. Class A: Charleston Riverdogs
William Oliver took the loss for Charleston despite giving up just two runs as they were shut out by Asheville by a score of 2-0. Oliver had allowed six hits in five innings of work while striking out four. After he left, the bullpen would shut down Asheville, keeping them from scoring through the remainder of the evening. Charleston couldn’t get much going offensively, managing to put just five runners in scoring position all night. All in all, the Riverdogs scrapped together just six hits, with not one extra base hit among them.

A-Rod may 'never speak to Reggie Jackson again'

It looks like Reggie Jackson has struck out with Alex Rodriguez over the comments he made about the Yankee third baseman in a Sports Illustrated article last week. A-Rod is still angry over Jackson's remark that Rodriguez's admitted use of steroids should keep him from joining the Yankee legend in the Hall of Fame. A source told the New York Daily News that Rodriguez is...

Yankees Sign Fukudome to Minor League Deal

Seems like this might be a little insurance in case Brett Gardner cannot make it back. Not sure how much that insurance will pay off however, because in 24 games (51 plate appearances) with the White Sox earlier this season, he hit just .171/.294/.195. Last year, while better than his pathetic start to this season, he hit .262/.342/.370 with only 8 HR and a measly 35 RBI in over...

Spike Lee ends up with Mark Teixeira’s bat after it flies into stands (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Scary moment at Yankee Stadium on Sunday when Mark Teixeira‘s bat went flying into the stands in the bottom of the first against the Angels. However, fear not, compassionate baseball fans: the lumber managed to avoid hitting anybody. But there to end up with the souvenir: Spike Lee, who appears to be more busy heckling people at New York sporting...

Once Angels' Wilson exits, Yankees rally for win

NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees trailed by three runs Friday, having been limited to two in the first seven innings by one of baseball's best starters. Having finally chased Los Angeles Angels lefty C.J. Wilson, they got to face Scott Downs, who allowed just one earned run in the season's first half. No matter. The Yankees continued to flex their muscles as the team...

Yankees 6, Angels 5

So the Yankees just beat up on the Los Angeles Angels' bullpen, rallying for four runs in the eighth in a 6-5 win at Yankee Stadium.
