Two years ago today, on November 24, 2010, this report from HoJo’s Mojo topped 12,000 unique reads and was what I considered to be the start of a 13 month, non-stop cycle of near-daily Jose Reyes news reports, rumors, and blog posts. It was the beginning of the end for Reyes, and when I personally started saying and writing that the All Star shortstop was as good as gone after his option year. Ironically, we are at the same point now with David Wright, but this time it feels much different. He will get “Carl Crawford money”, and then some. – Joe D.
You’ve heard the old saying where there’s smoke, there’s fire?
Well in the last 24 hours there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the Mets potentially trading shortstop Jose Reyes. Nothing concrete mind you, but certainly a buzz.
According to Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, Mets shortstop Jose Reyes is definitely on the market and not only that, but that the Mets are looking for 3-4 players/prospects in return for him.
