Pedro Feliciano is gaining traction at Double-A Binghamton where he pitched another perfect inning for them in last night’s 6-5 win over Salt Lake.
For the veteran lefthander, it was his third perfect inning in three appearances since being promoted from Advanced-A St. Lucie where he first began playing in rehab games.
Feliciano, who was signed to a minor league contract by the Mets in February, has been attempting to come back from left shoulder surgery he had in September of 2011.
He had been coming along very well and was showing increased velocity as he continued to build up his arm strength, but was then wiped out by a very serious bout of food poisoning.
Feliciano first got sick in late April and has officially been diagnosed with ciguatera, a form of fish poisoning.
Overall, Feliciano has a 1.13 ERA in eight innings pitched with two walks and seven strikeouts in eight minor league appearances. I believe he is close to a call-up from the Mets and that we will see him back wit...
