Starting pitcher Dustin Moseley is headed to the DL as he is going to have season ending surgery on his non-throwing shoulder on Wednesday.
According to the Union-Tribune Moseley elected to have the surgery after doctors told him continuing to play could do more damage to his shoulder.
This after Moseley "partially and temporarily" dislocated his left shoulder swinging the bat.
From Bill Centers article: "If I do it again, there could be more of a labral tear,” he said. “There was much more bruising the second time than the first (June 8). Right now, the bones are in good shape.
“They tell me the repair is pretty simple. It is an arthroscopic procedure.”
Rehab will take about four to six months leaving him ready for the start of spring training next year.
