Blog So Hard Sports:
Well, this is something that I never thought I would be writing about: Photographic evidence that your coach posed for Playgirl in the 80’s. Nationals Steve McCatty’s 1984 Playgirl photograph was unearthed. So what do you do when you find out that your pitching coach was in Playgirl? MAKE T-SHIRTS WITH THE PHOTO ON IT. And this is just what the Nationals did. Gio Gonzalez modeled the shirt in an interview. “It’s pretty incredible,” Ryan Zimmerman said. “It’s a perfect T-shirt, and what a picture. It’s one of the better T-shirts I’ve seen in the eight years I’ve seen them made.” I wonder when we will be able to buy this shirt on ebay. Move over, Hollywood. Gio Gonzalez got a new dog. Meet "Stitch".
There they are above, via a photo posted by Gio on Instagram Thursday night ("Me and the fat guy #stitch.") Heres to hoping Gio doesn't get rug burn on his forehead this time.

Up above, video of Tyler Moore colliding with Phillies catcher Eric Kratz at the plate in the fourth inning last night. Still amazed Kratz held on to the ball. Tie game at the time, should Trent Jewett have sent Moore?
"I know Trent was a little upset he sent him on that play, but I didn’t
blame him at all. We haven’t scored many runs, and
shoot, it could’ve...
Sure many women flock to Bryce Harper as the heartthrob of the Washington Nationals, but it’s actually their pitching coach, Steve McCatty who sends all the ladies into a tizzy. All the female fervor over McCatty reached it’s hunky pinnacle in 1984 when he was featured in a Playgirl pictorial. Next stop Beefcake City.
This tantalizing photo has all of the early 80′s sexuality...
Washington Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa has a broken bone in his right wrist and will rest a few days to see if it improves.
Manager Davey Johnson said Friday that Espinosa has been playing with discomfort since getting hit by a pitch April 14 against the Atlanta Braves. Espinosa also has a bone chip in the wrist, but the main concern is a small fracture that needs time...
It's been a rough couple of weeks for Nats' rising star Bryce Harper.
First, there was his embarrassing face-plant into the right-field wall at Dodger Stadium. Harper tried to track down a drive off the bat of A.J. Ellis but failed to remember the important part of the term "warning track."
Take a look for yourself.
OK, so maybe it's wise for him not to do...
For the Washington
Nationals, the revolving door to the injury front keeps turning. Here
is the latest news according to MLB.com’s Bill Ladson.
Ryan Mattheus, broken
Reliever Ryan Mattheus broke his right hand on May 19 as he
left the game against the San Diego Padres. He did not injure it on the field,
but rather, as a result of an ill-advised punching of...
The Washington Nationals like a number of other teams that were expected to accomplish big things this season, have struggled so far. The Nationals 24-23 record is respectable, but they’re second-worst hitting team in the major leagues sporting a woeful .225 average.
Well, according a story via Yahoo! Sports, Nationals manager Davey Johnson, is trying everything he can to get...
Even when I’m not trying to pay attention to Bryce Harper, he finds a way to capture my focus. Last night, I was seeing off a friend on the east side of Portland, and if I’d been thinking about any sport, it was hockey, since these are the days of the NHL playoffs. A TV was being projected onto one of the walls of the bar, and at first it was showing a minor-league hockey game...

Davey Johnson says he's giving up his razor until the Washington Nationals find their bats.
The manager apologized for his scraggly appearance before Friday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, but he said it had a purpose.
''If my facial hair looks bad,'' he said, ''I decided I wouldn't shave until we started hitting.''
Next up the Washington Nationals for the Memorial Day weekend. Is it too early to say these games are a must win? They are important and they might also help set the table for the season series. The Phillies who are on a two-game winning streak courtesy of Cliff Lee’s 3-0 shutout are two games back behind the second place Nationals.
The bats might be coming alive, the first being...
This dad snagged a foul ball in one hand while holding his baby in the other during the San Francisco Giants-Washington Nationals game.
And so, since Davey Johnson told reporters Friday afternoon that he wouldn't shave until the Nats start hitting, we figured we might as well start a "Davey Johnson Shave Watch" as a public service until Davey finally shaves.
"I figured [the face] couldn't get any uglier, so what the heck. Hopefully, I can shave soon." (Davey Johnson, via Nationals...
