This may be the most Bryce Harper thing ever.
Sure it’s only spring training, and the chances that the Nationals phenom would try a throw like this during the regular season is less than 5% (OK, maybe 10%), but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. Astros 3rd baseman Brandon Laird almost learned the hard way that if you take a big turn rounding first after a single, Bryce Harper will try and throw you out, even if it’s all the way from left field. Possibly the only person more surprised than Laird was by the daring throw was Nats 1st baseman Michael Moore.
Even more impressive that Harper would actually try to double up Laird from left field is that he nearly pulled it off. Love him or hate him, you have to admit that the kid’s got the skills to pay the bills.
