The Atlanta Braves have named Randy Ready, their new Triple-A Manager.  Ready replaces Dave Brundage, and becomes the second manager, since the Braves Triple-A affiliate was located to Gwinnett in ’09. Ready served as  the Texas Rangers’ minor league hitting instructor in 2012, and prior to that was the San Diego Padres’ minor league hitting instructor, from July 2009 through 2011. Ready also managed in the Padres’ minor league system, amassing a 489-466 record.  During that time he earned the Pacific Coast League’s “Best Manager Prospect” by Baseball America in 2008. Ready played in 777 major league games with Milwaukee (’83-’86), San Diego (’86-’89), Philadelphia (’89-’91 and ’94-’95) Oakland (’92) and Montreal (’93)  He had a career .259 average with 40 home runs and 239 RBI.
