According to the New York Daily News, the Mets were the victim of an internet-organized prank. When asked to vote for the new 8th Inning song at Shea Stadium, "fans" apparently voted for the ubiquitous "Never Gonna Give You Up" by white chocolate himself, Rick Astley.

  • toobigbeck - thanks for the links but I cannot respect any mascot list that has the Mariner Moose absent from it... and seriously, how can the Angels rally monkey be up there?
    But, looking back I could see how the Phillie Phanatic wins that one. That guy (thing?) epitomizes what it is to be a mascot.. thanks again for the links...
