In a June 2010 article, Frank Gray of Bleacher Report questioned the value of Nick Evans to New York Mets. At the time, Evans was beached at AA Binghamton and although he was in the midst of a successful season, there was no plan in place for his advancement in the organization. Once considered a high priority prospect, Evans has fallen from grace and his future with the Mets is in question. The team’s treatment of Evans has done him no favors. He has never been given the opportunity to start on a regular basis at the major league level, having only started 38 games since making his debut in 2008.
