Remember Nick Evans?
He was a healthy scratch from the lineup for AA-Binghamton leading Adam Rubin to believe he may soon be joining the Mets.
On Wednesday, Mets manager Jerry Manuel indicated that he wanted a right handed batter on the bench in anticipation of the Braves series that starts today.
Evans, 24, is having a solid bounce-back season and is hitting .290/.363/.518 with 24 doubles, 15 home runs and 46 RBI in 303 AB for Binghamton.
Evans has progressed at the plate as evidenced by his 10.5% walk rate and his 16.7% strikeout rate, both the best marks in his career.
