Posted in MetsBlog In yesterday’s 9-5 win over the PhilliesJose Reyes had four hits, two of which were triples. It marked the third time this season he has accomplished such a feat, and according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the only other players to accomplish such a feat in the expansion era are Kenny Lofton and Carl Crawford, and Reyes is the first person to do so before the end of May. In addition, it was the second time this season he’s had four hits in a game. He also had four hits on April 20 against the Astros, and the two, four hit games are tied for the second most in the majors this season. The guy just gets better and better each day. It seems as though each game, he amazes me more and more, and at this point, I’m almost disappointed if he makes an out. In my mind, he is among the best all-around players in the game, as he is once again establishing his ability to command a baseball game at any given moment.
