The Mets' season is deteriorating at an alarming rate, and most fans are looking to 2010 and even the start of football season as this Mets season appears to be done before August 1.  It is getting harder and harder to watch this team lose. Dropping three out of four games to Atlanta was compounded by the most recent injuries this weekend.  The trade deadline is looming, so a few deals will most likely be made by upper management to try to salvage the fans' trust. Gary Sheffield, David Wright, and Fernando Nieve all came up lame during the weekend games. Sheffield had his hamstring cramp up on him on a play in the outfield during Friday night's massacre of the Mets and is day to day.  As the 40-year-old veteran on the team who has been pressed into every day duty, Sheffield has been providing much of the team's power when he was in the lineup.
