Rays drop second straight with loss to Blue Jays

New Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi started the game Friday for Tampa Bay. Two Blue Jays hitters took him yard during his two innings of work as Toronto beat the Rays 5-4.  Chris Archer came in to relieve Odorizzi and fared much better. Archer went three innings, gave up just one hit and struck out one. Centerfielder Desmond Jennings also had a good day as well as he went 1-for-1 with...

Szu-Chi Chou, Taiwan’s Jose Bautista

Can you believe it!? Friday night, tonight!, the World Baseball Classic commences with an 11:30 p.m. ET game between Chinese Taipei and Australia! For those of us who spent the snowy preceding months watching grainy online feeds of Australian and Latin American winter ball, this day — this meaningful day — is precious. But precious also describes the amount, the scarcity,...

Ryan Howard hit a two-run homer off R.A. Dickey, but Jose Reyes and the Toronto Blue Jays touched up Cliff Lee in an 11-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. How have other teams that have added as much WARP in one offseason as the Blue Jays fared?

Former Met Jose Reyes Calls Marlins Owner a Liar

Liar, liar pants on fire; everyone remembers how that childish saying goes.  At this point, it seems that former Met Jose Reyes and Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria are saying that to each other. After signing his mega-deal with the Marlins in the 2012 off-season, Reyes was traded to the Blue Jays after Miami’s disappointing season.  The deal came to a shock to Reyes who claimed that...

Back and forth we go: Jose Reyes calls Jeffrey Loria a big fat liar

Eventually the whole “he said, she said” charade that is going on between Jose Reyes and Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria will fizzle out, but for now it would appear that Reyes is not content to just let it go. Earlier this month, Reyes claimed Loria encouraged him to buy a home in Miami just days before trading him to the Toronto Blue Jays. Loria fired back by saying that...

Vladimir Guerrero wants to attempt a comeback

You hate to see athletes way past their prime trying to hang on. Some know when to leave (John Elway, Ray Lewis, Marvin Hagler) and there are some who don't know when to say when (Rickey Henderson, Brett Favre). If there is anyone in the world of sports that wants one last shot at glory they should ask Willie Mays or Joe Namath how their last years turned out. Ken Rosenthal...

Singer strikes out, botches 2 anthems before game

A singer struck out in a big way at spring training, botching both the Canadian and U.S. national anthems before an exhibition game. Jeff Fuller messed up the lyrics in ''O Canada'' and ''The Star-Spangled Banner'' before the Toronto Blue Jays hosted the Houston Astros on Wednesday. Fuller's first attempt at the Canadian anthem went awry when...
