I have a real issue with the belief that Omar knew Carlos Delgado had a hip condition and may be lost to injury.First of all, I thought it was a good idea for the Mets to pick-up Delgado's option and flip him to an AL team looking for a DH ( Angels) but when Omar kept him, I really couldn't blame him since the contract was cheap for what he provided last year. However, if he knew that the hip was an issue and still didn't bring in another bat, then I have to seriously question his judgement as a GM. I thought it was bad enough that he signed Ollie over Lowe and decided that Murphy/Tatis would be good enough in left field. But with most left fielders also first basemen, in not acquiring another player in the off-season, knowing your big bat was playing with a degenerative hip condition is reprehensible.
