The Dodgers continued their busy transactional week, recalling relief pitcher Pedro Baez from Double-A Chattanooga on Monday before their series against the Nationals. Stephen Fife, who started on Sunday afternoon in Miami, was optioned back to the Triple-A Albuquerque. The move figures to be temporary for Baez, as the Dodgers will need to make another roster move on Tuesday to activate Clayton Kershaw from the disabled list. But for now, the team gets an extra relief pitcher for one more game in the interim. Dodgers relievers have thrown 113 innings in 32 games this season, the second-most in the majors.

Dodgers @ Marlins May 4, 2014: Reminder, Jose Fernandez Is Amazing

It’s Fife-tastic! Stephen Fife, recalled today to start against Miami with Jose Dominguez going back to Triple-A, is just the best kind of guy to have in your organization. You never, ever want to start a season with him in your rotation, and you don’t ever want to have to rely on him for 30 starts, but you know that a few times a year you’re going to need to dip into the minors...

Fantasy Baseball Week 6 Preview: Clayton Kershaw primed to return for Dodgers in Washington

By now you know the drill, this piece cues up a few of baseball’s biggest matchups for the week, as determined by storyline, standing, or fantasy baseball relevance. On the slate for Week 6: the Los Angeles Dodgers head to Washington to take on the Nats, and the Chicago White Sox take on the Cubs in the city’s North side. This matchup loses a bit of its intrigue (from a media...

Brian Wilson’s Doppelgänger Was All Fired Up Behind Home Plate In Washington

To be fair, it’s not hard to be considered Brian Wilson’s “doppelganger.” All you need to do is shave your head, grow and gigantic black beard, throw on some Dodgers gear and…*poof*…you’re Brian’s brother, Buddy Wilson. Not only did Buddy have the look down, he also had pretty great seats and brought some serious energy. I mean, that guy was FIRED up. (GIF via...

Brian Wilson's doppelganger spotted at Nationals Park

Strange things can happen in the early morning hours after a long rain delay. For example, Brian Wilson's doppelganger appearing behind home plate at Nationals Park with Brian Wilson on the mound for the Dodgers. He got pretty fired up after every pitch. Enjoy video of "Buddy Wilson" above. (Screencaps via video)

The Artful Dodgers: April Showers to Bring May Flowers?

As I write this, the first game of the Dodgers/Nationals series is currently being rain delayed, so I figure this is the right time to look back on the first full month of Dodger baseball and assess the True Blue state of affairs. So, how do the Dodgers look thus far? Well…good enough. They may sit in third place right now with an 18-14 record, but it’s not in a way that reflects...

Yasiel Puig Watch - Crashes into OF Wall

Not only did the Los Angeles Dodgers lose on a walk off hit to the Miami Marlins, but Yasiel Puig almost made a game saving catch, but just missed and hit the wall hard, landing awkwardly on the warning track.Your browser does not support iframes.Tweets about "yasiel puig"

Marlins 5, Dodgers 4: Good Game, Worst Ending

It wouldn’t be a 2014 Dodger game without some stress. This game was close as well, but the ending overshadows everything else. With a runner on third and two outs in a tie game in the ninth, Jeff Baker sent a fly ball to left over Yasiel Puig‘s head. With the game on the line, Puig jumped for the ball. He missed the catch by inches and the Marlins won. More importantly, Puig...

Brian Wilson had a hyperactive doppelganger in the stands at Nationals Park (video)

It was a dark and stormy night Monday as the Los Angeles Dodgers paid a visit to D.C. to take on the Washington Nationals. Okay, it was a rainy night, so much so that the steady stream of precipitation brought the game to a grinding halt, prompting a three-hour, 17-minute rain delay that caused Nationals […] The post Brian Wilson had a hyperactive doppelganger in the stands at...

Brian Wilson’s Doppelganger Spotted At Nationals Park

Your browser does not support iframes. A fan spotted behind home plate of Monday night’s LA Dodgers-Washington Nationals game looked eerily similar to the man pitching on the mound. As funny as Wilson’s doppelganger was, the Nationals announcer may have beat it out saying that the man “Buddy Wilson” was Brian’s brother. The post Brian Wilson’s Doppelganger Spotted At...
