2011 marks the eighth season of Padres baseball at Petco Park.  Over the eight years, we’ve learned a lot about the way the ballpark plays with both wind patterns and spacious dimensions.  It’s massive.  Saying Petco is a pitcher park is like saying the sun is hot.  The extreme nature of the park has become a detriment to the organization.  There, I said it.  It’s too pitcher friendly.  It’s so bad that hitters convince themselves they can’t hit at Petco.  The result has been the anemic production of the Padres offense ever since arriving downtown. The Padres as a team are hitting .209 at Petco this season, good enough for dead last in baseball at home.  It’s easy to point at their beer league softball caliber lineup as the reason for their struggles because, frankly, guys like Chase Headley and Brad Hawpe aren’t much in terms of offensive juggernauts.  On the flip side, the Padres are hittin...
