Philadelphia Phillies First Baseman Ross Gload Has Hip Injury

Ross Gload has a tear in his hip that he says he will try to play through. Charlie Manuel said Gload will be out for a few days but will try not to go on the disabled list. Gload suffered the injury on May 19 when he was playing right field against the Colorado Rockies, although Gload has been able to pinch-hit twice since then. He was unavailable for yesterday’s game. Gload is hitting .294 (10-for-34) this season with four RBIs as a left-handed bat off the bench.
