According to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) transaction page, the team has released outfielder Willy Taveras.
Taveras was signed by the Phillies earlier this month.
Taveras has been with a number of organization this season. He was with the Cincinnati Reds last season, then was traded to the Oakland Athletics last winter. Oakland released the outfielder before Spring Training and he quickly signed with the Washington Nationals. The Nationals released Taveras in mid-May.
Taveras, 28, was hitting .200/.243/.257 in 27 games with the Nationals this season.
