Phillies catcher Dane Sardinha charged with DUI

Clearwater police arrested the 31-year-old non-roster invitee early Monday morning. The Philadelphia Daily News broke the story earlier today. The Pinellas County Sheriff's office said Sardinha was arrested and released on $250 bond, according to the team Web site. Sardinha, a former second-round pick of the Reds, split last season between Triple-A Toledo and Detroit, appearing in 12 games with the Tigers.
