Found June 15, 2012 on Phillies Nation:
The Toronto Blue Jays bullpen pitched a five hitter against the Phillies tonight winning 3-0.  From what I saw, which wasn’t much, it wasn’t pretty. The Good – Vance Worley pitched seven innings allowing only one earned run and matched his longest outing of the season.  He struck out five and only gave up five hits.  Getting past the seventh inning has been some what of an adventure this season, one that Worley has yet to figure out.  Unfortunately he did take the loss (3-3) but his ERA (2.95) is under three and he has been throwing very well. Since returning from the DL, Worley has only allowed four earned runs in his three starts.  The Phillies have lost all three of those games. The Bad – In the big scheme of things I guess it doesn’t really matter but Mike Fontenot’s error in the fourth inning would lead to two unearned runs for the Blue Jays.  If the Phillies had actually scored tonight it may have made a difference.  This was the Phillies 13th error in their last nine games....

Another Phillie Bites the Dust – Ruiz Likely Headed to DL

Carlos Ruiz, the Phillies best player by far this season, left last night’s game in the 6th inning with an oblique strain. Just when it appears that there may be signs of life for the Philadelphia Phillies, something comes along and alters their course. After putting together a 2 game winning streak at the expense of the Minnesota Twins, the Phillies pulled into Toronto with hopes...

The Latest on Roy Halladay and His Latissimus Dorsi Injury

Good news, Roy Halladay's latissimus dorsi muscle is healing a little quicker than expected: 11 Days after setting a three week timetable, Doc has already started throwing. While it is absolutely best to take it slow, it's great to see that Doc is already improving. The last time he pitched in a game was May 27th against the Cardinals. In that game, Roy left with a lingering...

Deja Vu all over again for Phillies in 6-5 loss to Toronto

A 4-2 lead in the eighth, no problem. John Mayberry’s two out three-run home run in the third amounted for most of the Phillies’ offense. A safe lead, unless you are the Phillies. Fueled by Jimmy Rollins’ two-run error the Blue Jays tied the game and won the game in the 10th, 6-5. Rajai Davis’ two-out double scored Yunel Escobar with the winning run. Cliff Lee, again did...
