Scott Elarton, a 17-game winner with Houston in 2000 who hasn't pitched in the majors in three years, was among eight non-roster players the Phillies have invited to spring training.
Elarton last pitched professionally in 2010 with Triple-A Charlotte. He's 56-61 with a 5.29 ERA in 232 career games.
Left-hander Pat Misch, who pitched in six games for the Mets last year; Raul Valdes, who appeared in 11 games with St. Louis and the Yankees last season; and right-hander Brian Sanches, who spent the last three seasons with Florida, also will report to spring training with Philadelphia.
Infielders Pete Orr and Kevin Frandsen and outfielder Scott Podsednik are returning for the second year in the organization. Catcher Tuffy Gosewich is back for his fourth big league camp with Philadelphia.
