Found August 23, 2012 on Philliedelphia:
We knew Jeremy Horst would only be gone a little while.  But we did not necessarily expect this outcome.  Today the Phillies reactivated Horst from the paternity list and sent RHP Michael Schwimer to AAA Lehigh Valley.    Schwimer has given up five runs in 2 2/3 innings after a strong stretch where he had only given up one run in his previous 11 appearances. So, Phillippe Aumont stays.  Let's see what you can do.

Frandsen, Kratz give Phillies fans reason to stick it out in September

Let's give the Phillies some credit. Despite being out of the playoff hunt, they have become a team that can be fun to watch. With a little over a month to go in the season we know that the Phillies will miss out on October baseball for the first time since 2006, which means that we will get plenty of time to watch some guys get some playing time in hopes of staying on the roster...

Philadelphia Phillies: 2012 ERA for the MLB 5 at game 124

Prime Nine: Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies are an enigma wrapped in riddle this season. Their farm system is very similar in that it has a lot of high points and some low points. There are two players in the top ten at their position that will not be included here. Sebastian Valle is a top ten catcher, but falls behind Tommy Joseph (also a top ten catcher) on the rankings for the team...

Kendrick, Phillies Defeat Nats in Series Opener, 4-2.

Final: Nationals 2, Phillies 4. WP: Kyle Kendrick (7-9, 4.12 ERA) LP: Edwin Jackson (7-9, 3.72 ERA) SV: Jonathan Papelbon (28) The Phillies didn't waste much time scoring their first run of the series against their division-leading rival. In fact, they got things going right in the bottom of the first inning against RHP Edwin Jackson. After Jimmy Rollins singled and Kevin...

Many thanks to Danielle for keeping up with all the pictures I was texting her.  Here's one large summary post that will get you all the photos in one spot and include any that we missed.   The other were with my iPhone; these are taken with a digitial camera.  These were taken by me and my wife throughout the game. There's a lot of these, so I did split this post,...

Phillies Flash Back to the 90's, Part I

The Phanatic on "Baywatch," Jimmy Rollins as Will Smith in the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," Juan Pierre as Bill Cosby, and Chase Utley as Dylan from "90210." Doesn't get much better than that.

John Mayberry Walks it off with RBI Single in Eleventh Inning; Phils win, 4-3

Cole Hamels against Johnny Cueto sounds like an awfully good pitching match-up. The two candidates for the Cy Young award battled in a pitcher's duel after a shaky and rainy first inning from Cole Hamels. Once Hamels found his groove, the Reds were in trouble. That first inning for Cole looked like a whole lot of trouble. In the middle of a downpour, Cole gave up two singles...

Phillies 4, Reds 3(11)

John Mayberry Jr. hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night. Todd Frazier drove in all three runs for the NL Central-leading Reds, who were seeking their first series win in Philadelphia since 2006. The Phillies tied it in the eighth on Jimmy Rollins' sacrifice fly and won...

Gameday: Nationals (77-47) vs. Phillies (58-67)

Washington Nationals (77-47) at Philadelphia Phillies (58-67) Edwin Jackson (7-8, 3.69) vs. Kyle Kendrick (6-9, 4.20) Time: 7:05, Citizens Bank Park TV: CSN Weather: Mostly Cloudy, 80 Media: Twitter and Facebook The Nationals were expected to be an up and coming team.  They were expected to be much improved, but I don’t think anybody expected them to have the best record in...

Nationals-Phillies Preview

Despite being separated by 19 1/2 games in the standings, the Washington Nationals have had some trouble beating the Philadelphia Phillies. The NL East leaders, however, have yet to face them with the core of their lineup intact. That will change this weekend. The Nationals look to exact some revenge against the only team to take a series from them since the All-Star break as they...
