With some spring training games under their belts, the Phillies 2013 picture is beginning to get some color. The winter trade for Ben Revere is certainly looking like Ruben Amaro Jr’s best move. Revere is hitting, getting on base, stealing bases and giving the big bats somebody to knock in. In the outfield he is performing as described, covering plenty of ground and providing solid defense.
The battle for right-field may be over soon if Brown continues his tear through spring. Brown is hitting with some power early, something absent in his prior stints with the big club. Getting quality at-bats, hitting some homers and showing some improved defense, Brown is winning the competition to be a starter.
