Bush League Chronicle:
For some reason, this Philadelphia Phillies fan made the trek to Miami to watch his team take on the Marlins Wednesday night. But it looks like he had no interest in watching the actual game being played on the field, though. A person sitting behind this man sent in the photo to Deadspin with the following details:This guy has his MacBook, iPad, and iPhone in the front row at the Marlins game. When security asked him to put it away he demanded that he had a Constitutional right to free speech that protected him. After arguing for a full inning with security, they relented. Then he gloated by waving his laptop around with the phone still attached, which could have been painful if anyone attended Marlins games.Okay, so no one can blame him for not wanting to watch the Marlins play baseball. The Fish are absolutely horrid. With that being said, you got to leave the technology at home, man. You are making the rest of us sports lovers look bad.Via Deadspin

With Chase Utley on the disabled list and Ryan Howard on the precipice of injury with his hurting left knee, there has been an outcry from some fans for the Phillies to call up. To some, the Ruthian-type hero from last year who blasted 20 home runs in one month, and 51 between three leagues is the obvious choice for a team which so desperately needs an offensive boost. But to others...
With the exception of two position players, there is a new squad being built by the Philadelphia Phillies around Domonic Brown. Three are on the parent club, three are at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and two are with Single-A Lakewood. Kyle Kendrick was out of sync all night (PHOTO: AP)
Kyle Kendrick struggled for the second straight outing on Friday night, and the Phillies dropped the first of their three game series with the Nationals, 5-2. Kendrick and the defense had a very tough time in the fifth inning, giving up four runs in that frame alone. The inning started off with a Bryce Harper single, and the...
The Philadelphia Phillies have placed five-time All-Star second baseman Chase Utley on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique strain.
Utley could miss up to four weeks. The team will make a roster move before Friday's game at Washington.
''We do believe and hope that Chase will be ready to play in Philadelphia within 15 days,'' general manager Ruben Amaro...
Michael Martinez has been recalled from Lehigh Valley to take the roster spot of Chase Utley, who hits the DL with an oblique strain. Yes, that Michael Martinez.
No, we still will not see Darin Ruf, or even the young second baseman Cesar Hernandez, take the place of Utley.
I thought we had seen the last of Martinez last season, but apparently not. As Corey Seidman so eloquently...
Your browser does not support iframes.Football season doesn't begin for another four months, but this collision at home plate during the Nationals-Phillies game may have you wondering if it's already here.Watch as Washington's Tyler Moore absolutely lowers the boom on Philadelphia catcher Erik Kratz in the fourth inning on Friday. The Phillies will pay tribute to the past later this summer, with Brad Lidge retiring in red pinstripes a day before Curt Schilling is inducted into the Wall of Fame. Schilling, the Phillies ace from 1992 until midway through the 2000 season, won three World Series rings after leaving Philadelphia but produced two of his best seasons here and provided long-lasting memories with his...
There are only a few elite aces in the majors like Cliff Lee of the Philadelphia Phillies. What west coast hurlers are in that group?

The Phillies officially added right-handed reliever Mike Stutes to the Phillies active roster. The move comes one day after the team sent reliever Phillippe Aumont to AAA Lehigh Valley. Many speculated that it would be Stutes, coming off a hot streat at Lehigh Valley. Stutes had given up just one...
