Michael Taylor and Josh Donaldson have been stuck in the minors too long. At one time they were both considered to be top prospects for the A’s. Recently they have dropped in their offensive output but part of me wonders if that has more to do with their mental state. Both of these players are around the age of 26 and seem to stuck in triple A without being given a shot at the big league club. I think that would weigh on the mind of any minor leaguer. These players are both at the age where they should be in their second or third season not closing out another season, rotting away, in triple A. Michael Taylor has lost quite a bit in his power numbers since joining the Oakland A’s system. He was in double digits every year on his way up through the minors prior to being acquired by the A’s. How much of this power loss was the A’s style of hitting they force on their organization or him struggling with better pitching in triple A ball? That I don’t know ...
