Post Game: Dickey Get Slammed, Mets Drop Rubber Match

When the New York Mets arrived in Atlanta, the expectations were such that the first game would be the improbable victory while the next two would be locks. Well, that's the reason games aren't played on paper.Coming off of Johan Santana's worst career outing, the New York Mets lost 14-6 to lose their second game in a row and drop the series to the Atlanta Braves.R.A Dickey (2-1, 5.71 ERA) came out of the gate hot, utilizing an extremely deceptive knuckler that had Braves off balance through the first inning, but his success stopped soon after. Dickey wound up allowing 8 runs on 8 hits while allowing a staggering 3 home runs. The outing marked the end of a streak of 14-consecutive quality starts for Dickey, the longest such streak in the majors.
