The New York Mets (10-8) topped the Miami Marlins (7-10) behind a 2-run home run off the bat of David Wright that moved the cornerstone 3rd baseman into 1st place on the Mets all time RBI list, passing Darryl Strawberry's record.

After tying Darryl Strawberry's record a week ago, David Wright finally moved to first place on the Mets all time RBI list with a 2-run home run that put the Mets ahead of the Marlins 2-1 in the 6th inning. It was Wright's 3rd home run of the season and it couldn't have come at a better time for the Mets, who struggled mightily against Mark Buehrle in the early goings. Darryl Strawberry's last RBI as a Met came on September 26th 1990, and it doesn't appear that Wright's record will be broken for quite a while either.

The Mets took off after Wright moved past Strawberry, tacking on 3 insurance runs in impressive fashion. Mike Baxter hit a pinch hit 2-run double in the 8th and Lucas Duda also drove in a run in the contest.

R.A Dickey (3-1, 4.44 ERA) continued Johan Santana's example of dominant starting pitching tonight, pitching 7 innings of 1 run ball while rebounding from a horrific start in Atlanta. Dickey allowed a solo home run to Omar Infante in the top of the 5th inning and not much else, scattering 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7. Dickey's knuckle ball had the same life that it displayed during the first inning of his last start and lead the Mets to their second consecutive victory.

Jon Rauch had his 3rd hold of the season and remained perfect through 2/3 of an inning, allowing only a hit before making way for Bobby Parnell to record the final out. Tim Byrdak and Manny Acosta finished the 9th en route to the Mets 2nd consecutive victory.

That Jose Reyes guy? He's 1-8 in his return to Citi Field and struggling mightily in Miami, his average down to .217 on the season.

The Mets will look to sweep their first series against the year against the Miami Marlins at Citi Field tomorrow afternoon at 1:10 PM as Jonathon Niese will look to continue his strong stretch of starting pitching this year.
