No offense, but someone high up in the Dodgers front office must have a loved one on life support. Other than that, there is no reason why the Dodgers announced today that veteran reliever Juan Rincon has being signed to a minor league contract. I suppose the classy veterans they've looked at before: Jones, Loaiza, Sturtze, Dessens and Schmidt was not enough to send a message. My guess is he'll get shelled in minor league camp as he has been over the last 4 seasons in the majors, even in limited appearances. For a guy who nearly gave up as many runs and he threw strikeouts, perhaps the Dodgers will be the resurgent team that sparked life back into Jay Gibbons, I won't hold my breath.
