It's been quite a two-day stretch for Texas Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison.

On Sunday, he was selected to the American League All-Star team for the first time in his career. On Monday, Harrison was chosen the AL Pitcher of the Month for June, becoming the first Ranger to win the monthly pitching award since Kenny Rogers in 2005.

Rogers went 5-0 with a 1.29 ERA over six starts in June. He ranked second in the AL in ERA for the month and third in innings (42), one-third of an inning behind co-leaders Justin Verlander and Jake Peavy.

For the season, Harrison is 11-3 with a 3.16 ERA and has won his last seven decisions. He is tied with Tampa Bay Rays All-Star David Price for the AL lead in wins, and he ranks eighth in ERA.

"He's been a different pitcher this year," said teammate and fellow All-Star Josh Hamilton. "He's gone out and just pretty much done what he's wanted to when he's been on the mound."

Harrison will make his final start of the first half Thursday against the White Sox at Chicago. He will be bidding to become the sixth pitcher in Texas history to win eight consecutive decisions. Tommy Hunter was the last to win eight decisions in a row, accomplishing the feat in 2010.
