Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler is back on the field with stitches on his face and blood on his jersey after a vicious collision at home plate. The start of the fourth inning of Tuesday night's game against Oakland was delayed for several minutes while Kinsler was getting treatment. When Kinsler slid feet-first into home in the bottom of the third, his helmet came off his head and his face slammed into the mask of catcher John Jaso, who unsuccessfully tried to prevent the run. The Rangers said Kinsler got three stitches on the left side of his jaw, which were covered by a bandage when he went back on the field. He was examined by team physician Dr. Keith Meister and screened for any concussion symptoms.
