Bray is headed toward the sidelines
Yet another Reds reliever has been bitten by the injury bug as the team placed LHP Bill Bray (groin) on the 15-day DL on Wednesday. He joins fellow relief pitchers Nick Masset (shoulder) and Ryan Madson (shoulder) on the list of ailing arms from the 'pen.
The 28-year old Bray has been clearly bothered by the condition all spring, as evidenced by his shaky start. In five appearances (2.2 IP) prior to today he's allowed five hits, four runs (all earned) and three walks -- uncharacterstic for a guy who sports a career 3.81 ERA and 1.36 WHIP.
That's the bad news. What's the good news? The Reds promoted RHP J.J. Hoover from Triple-A Louisville to take his place on the roster.
