Jose Reyes worked out a Citi Field today and is scheduled to make his return to the field in tomorrow’s game, against the Washington Nationals. It’s about time. While David Wright is the clear face of the franchise, Reyes is its heart and soul. Reyes was placed on the 15-day disabled list on March 26th with a Thyroid Imbalance. The mere fact that he was physically in Citi Field today had Mets fans excited and you can even sense the entire Mets organization walking with some swagger going into the Washington series, knowing their effervescent leader will be back on the field. Reyes has missed nearly a year of baseball, after he played in only 36 games last year due to reoccurring hamstring problems that never seemed to heal. Reyes’ return raises some interesting questions about the Mets lineup. What do Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel now do with 20 year-old shortstop, Ruben Tejada?
