Found October 21, 2009 on Another Cubs Blog:
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10254444/La-Russa-will-have-options,-if-he-wants-them Multiple teams are in contact the Cubs about outfielder Milton Bradley, with one source saying, “You would be shocked at the level of interest.” The Cubs remain confident that they can trade Bradley without assuming the vast majority of the $21 million remaining on his contract over the next two years. New owner Tom Ricketts has set a limit for how much money the Cubs will include in a deal, one source says. The Cubs can take back a contract but pay only a fixed amount of cash. This has to be good news. Of course, many of us here would rather that the Cubs find a way to keep Bradley, but it’s looking like the chances of the Cubs completely dumping his salary are decreasing. Thank DeRosa. And if the market isn’t quite as rosy as Robothal is intimating here, it looks like Ricketts is not so down with a complete dump/release. The fact that there is interest shows that the other MLB GMs are not complete morons.
