The Colorado Rockies activated veteran catcher Yorvit Torrealba from the seven-day disabled list after he was sidelined by a concussion.
He was in uniform for Tuesday night's game against the San Francisco Giants. To make room on the roster, the Rockies optioned infielder/outfielder Ryan Wheeler to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
The 35-year-old Torrealba was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 19. He is hitting .252 with six doubles and 10 RBIs this season as he serves as a backup to Wilin Rosario.
Wheeler has hit .211 in two stints with the Rockies in 2013. He is batting .308 with 81 RBIs in 110 games for the Sky Sox.
