Looking to add bullpen depth with a low-risk, high-reward flier, the Rockies signed right-hander Sean White to a minor-league deal. White, 29, is a classic rebound candidate. He struggled last season with the Mariners, but posted a 2.80 ERA in 52 games in 2009. White, who throws hard and relies heavily on a sinker, will receive an invitation to big-league camp. The Rockies have added arms to bolster the back of their bullpen. They acquired Matt Lindstrom in a trade, Felipe Paulino, also acquired from the Astros, could be converted to a reliever and White has had late-inning success prior to last season. White is a groundball pitcher who relieves heavily on a sinking fastball.
