And so, after being released by the Nats earlier in the week, Roger Bernadina made his debut with the Phillies last night, flying out in a 7th inning pinch hitting appearance.
A little trip down memory lane:
That time the Shark crushed a baseball onto Eutaw Street.
That time the Shark fouled a ball off a bad place, and his teammates laughed.
That ridiculous game-saving catch in Houston last year, the one where Craig Stammen celebrated.
The Shark's ridiculous guns.
Good luck, Shark. Just not against the Nats.

Charlie will be there!
Ladies and gentlemen, due to the outpouring of support for Charlie Manuel, we’ve decided to host a party in his honor. And best of all, Charlie has graciously agreed to attend.
The party is free to attend and will be held this Friday, August 23 starting at 5pm at The Field House at 1150 Filbert Street (next to Reading Terminal).
There will be food and...
Roy Halladay loves Charlie Manuel. But, all the same, the rehabbing pitcher says that it was time for a change in Philadelphia. Manuel was fired as manager of the Phillies on Friday, in a lot of ways putting an end to the team’s glory days surrounding its 2008 and 2009 World Series runs. Still, Halladay, who on Tuesday was pitching for the Low-A Lakewood BlueClaws, says that the...
A day after Jim Salisbury of Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia reported that the Phillies were taking a look at outfielder Roger Bernadina, the Phillies signed Bernadina today. Bernadina will take the roster spot of Michael Martinez, who was optioned to AAA Lehigh Valley, reports Todd Zolecki. Bernadina was released by the...
The Philadelphia Phillies' top farm club on Tuesday offered a free funeral to an eastern Pennsylvania fan recently diagnosed with ALS.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs announced the winner of its funeral giveaway during a home game at Coca-Cola Park.
Steve Paul, 64, of Freemansburg got a standing ovation as he was wheeled onto the field and announced as the recipient of a funeral...
It was a nice winning streak while it lasted (a whole two games). The Colorado Rockies defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday.
The Rockies got to Tyler Cloyd quickly. Troy Tulowitzki and Wilin Rosario homered off him in the first and third innings respectively. Cloyd lasted six innings, surrendering five earned runs. Cloyd settled down after the third...
One week ago today, Charlie Manuel managed his 1,416th regular-season game as the skipper of the Philadelphia Phillies. It was an unremarkable game in an unremarkable season, losing 6-3 to the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves. It was also Charlie Manuel’s last game as the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. Just two days prior, Manuel won […]The post Charlie Manuel Deserved A...
Kyle Kendrick had the Rockies on their heels last night through the first five innings, allowing just one earned by locating his fastball and getting hitters to make weak contact on his cutter. The wheels came off for Kendrick in the sixth: he allowed three runs without getting an out. A three-run shot by Wilin Rosario was the knockout blow.
Last night’s performance by Kendrick...
Hooray, internet! Thanks, @AndrewJGillen
A Phillies comeback win? Remember what that feels like? It seems like it’s been so long since we’ve seen one. Down a run going into the ninth inning, the game looked about over. But a leadoff double by Erik Kratz gave the Phillies life. Carlos Ruiz doubled in Kratz, and Michael Young finished the game with walkoff single.
Cliff Lee had his best outing in a while. It...
Cliff Lee is in a stretch that looks a lot like the start of his season last year. Aside from some hiccups, he's pitched fairly deep into most games and allows minimal damage but the fact that he allows any damage at all finds him in the loss or no...
