Ron Mahay was officially released by the Los Angeles Dodgers today, according to Dylan Hernandez via Twitter. Mahay, 39, has had a successful career as a left-handed specialist, but he never really had a chance of making it with the Dodgers this season.Mahay signed a minor league deal last month, but the deal needed prayers, luck, fate, and slew of injuries for him to the make the team. Mahay didn't really help himself too much either, allowing 8 runs and 15 baserunners in 7 1/3 innings this spring. The Dodgers have a young and very talented left-hander already named Hong-Chih Kuo. There is also Scott Elbert who happens to be young and talented also. With Mahay out of the picture his odds of making the team just got a little boost. There are also a couple non-roster invitees on the fringe, Dana Eveland and my favorite so far this spring Wilkin De La Rossa. Should Ron Mahay not catch on anywhere else and decide to call it quits, he will finish his 14 year career with an ERA of 3....
