Roy Halladay was on MLB Network Radio this morning on "Power Alley" with Jody McDonald and Fred McGriff to promote discoverboating.com, but talked plenty of baseball, including how he is feeling after his trip to the disabled list. The biggest news is that Halladay says he is fully healthy once again.  His seven inning scoreless performance could be an indication.  For Halladay, it's a matter of working out mechanics after the injury: "Physically I'm 100%.  I have some mechanical things I'm trying to iron out.  Wen you're out there and hurt your body does some things to alleviate the pain...I'm trying to do some things I normally do...it's taking a while to get myself mechanically back to where I want to be." Halladay showed his unselfish self.  He discussed things that he can control, such as preparation for the game and showed he does not mind who wins as long as the team does. "I set personal goals as far as preparation...

Phillies Nation Interview: Catcher Tommy Joseph

Acquired in last week’s trade that sent Hunter Pence to San Francisco, catcher Tommy Joseph is now among Philadelphia’s top positional prospects. An All-Star in the Double-A Eastern League, the righty hitting Joseph has posted a .262 batting average with 8 HR and 39 RBI in 87 games this season. Joseph, who stands 6’1″ tall and weighs around 215 pounds, was the Giants’...

His Phillies Return is Only Eight Games, but Domonic Brown is Impressive

Domonic Brown was the untouchable.  The Phillies would not trade him.  Not for Cliff Lee.  Not for Roy Halladay.  He debuted to a standing ovation in 2010 as the Phillies entered an offensive funk down the stretch.  But soon the magic died. Brown hit just .210 in his late season call-up in 2010, and Spring Training 2011 before there ever was a Hunter Pence Brown broke his...

Phillies Pitching Frustrating Once Again

The Phillies lost in spectacularly bad fashion by a score of 12-6 against the Braves last night, losing the 3 game series. Kyle Kendrick went only 3 1/3 innings while giving up 6 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks. Kendrick looked like he was sleepwalking through the game. He was awful. The only thing worse than Kyle Kendrick’s pitching was his post-game interview. Nearly all of Kendrick’s...

Halladay, Lohse Start As Cardinals Return To Philly For First Time Since 2011 NLDS

On October 7, 2011 the Philadelphia Phillies played in what could be their final "golden era" game. Best friends Chris Carpenter and Roy Halladay squared off in an epic Game 5 of the NLDS in an effort to push their teams to the next stage of the postseason. Carpenter was able to fend off Halladay and the Phillies, tossing a 1-0 shutout to complete the series win over the...

Not the time to fire Charlie Manuel

Theory of Relativity.  Skinny jeans on guys.  Nicholas Cage getting paid to do movies. Here’s another thing that makes no sense: fire Charlie Manuel. The Phillies' number 3 and 4 hitters were injured for the first three months, Roy Halladay joined the DL for over a month, they have a minor league bullpen, and you want to blame…Charlie Manuel? The manager...

Hamels Ends Losing Streak Against Braves

It appears that Cole Hamels has found his groove again, and just in time to end a long Phillies losing streak against the division rival Braves. Prior to Tuesday night, the Braves had won 7 straight against the struggling Phils. But once Hamels snapped out of his pitching slump, he made easy work out of Atlanta’s line-up. He pitched a 5-hit, complete game shut-out with 6 strike...

Philadelphia Phillies: 2012 ERA for the NL East at game 111

Cardinals-Phillies Preview

(AP) -- The St. Louis Cardinals haven't visited Philadelphia since defeating Roy Halladay and the Phillies in Game 5 of last October's NL division series. While there doesn't figure to be nearly as much intrigue surrounding this weekend's three-game set, a matchup between Halladay and Kyle Lohse could make for a competitive series opener Friday night. While defending...

Gameday: Braves (63-47) at Phillies (50-60)

Atlanta Braves (63-47) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (50-60) Tim Hudson (11-4, 3.45) vs. Kyle Kendrick (4-9, 4.45) Time: 7:05 PM, Citizens Bank Park TV: CSN Weather: Chance of thunderstorms, 88 Media: Twitter and Facebook Kyle Kendrick appeared to find his place in the bullpen, but with the departure of Joe Blanton, he found himself back in the rotation.  Although he only spent...

The Team That Started It All: Phillies host Cardinals

Cliff Lee, who is 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA in five career starts against the St. Louis Cardinals, starts the middle game of the Phillies' three-game series against the Cardinals. (Philliedelphia/Kevin Durso) This disaster of a season actually didn't start in 2012. It started on October 7, 2011, when the Phillies were on the wrong end of a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the St. Louis...

Braves Dismantle Phils Pitching, Win 12-6.

Final: Phillies 6, Braves 12. WP: Chad Durbin (4-1, 3.07 ERA) LP: Antonio Bastardo (2-4, 5.45 ERA) Tonight's game featured a series of highs-and-lows for the Philadelphia Phillies. The bottom of the 1st was positive in the fact that Jimmy Rollins picked up his 40th career leadoff home run, in which he homered off of opposing starter Tim Hudson to the first row in right field...
