Sports Illustrated is doing a team-by-team preview of each club’s off-season plans. You can read the entire thing yourself, but relevant to our conversation here is the list of “targets” they identify for the Reds: SP James Shields, SP Roy Oswalt, SP C.J. Wilson, SP Jon Danks, SP Scott Baker. Shields: yes, please. Wilson: too expensive and probably not worth the money he’ll receive, anyway. Roy Oswalt? Very interesting. Then again, take this with a grain of salt. In another example of why the once-mighty SI is dying, these guys list Aroldis Chapman as next year’s closer.
