The Los Angeles Dodgers injury situation this season has been something to behold. Sunday the team recalled Matt Magill from AAA to start in place of Hyun-Jin Ryu who is still battling soreness in his foot after using it to stop a groundball last time out. Magill was less than stellar as the young right-hander was hammered for seven runs (six earned) in a 7-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies were able to take advantage of the nine walks issued by Magill in his six innings of work but the real damage was done by way of four home runs including two off the bat of Dexter Fowler. The nine walks were the most allowed by a Dodgers pitcher in less than nine innings in franchise history. Jorge De La Rosa held the Dodgers to just two runs and six hits over seven innings with the only runs coming on a second inning double from Skip Schumaker that scored Andre Ethier and Luis Cruz. The Dodgers combined to strikeout nine times as Rockies pitching barely had to work against the weak hitting offense these days. All eyes will be on Dodgers Stadium as top prospect Yasiel Puig will be promoted to the Major Leagues to make his debut. WP: Jorge De La Rosa (7-3) LP: Matt Magill (0-1) Notes: The Dodgers have now used the DL 16 times for 13 different players.
