The Tampa Bay Rays found themselves in a hole early in the series. Coming off a road trip that included five of six losses to the Yankees and Orioles, the Rays saw their playoff hopes slip a bit more during the first two games against the Boston Red Sox.  After losing the first game on Monday, the Rays seemed to have possibly bounce back on Tuesday. The Rays jumped to a 3-0 lead over Boston on Tuesday but quickly saw that lead go away. The Sox would go on to score seven runs between hits and Rays’ errors to win 7-5. The Rays would bounce back to win the following two games courtesy of an offensive outburst. Rays recorded 20 runs on 25 hits between Wednesday and Thursday, largely in part of their six run ninth inning rally that consisted of a BJ Upton walk off home run to center field. The Rays now sit 5.5 games back from the final spot for the wild card. The Blue Jays will come in for a three game set against the Rays. Tampa Bay has 12 games remaining on their schedule. ...
