In a somewhat difficult move, Xavier Paul has been designated for assignment. The move comes on the arrival of Jerry Sands, and this may not be easy, but it's necessary. Paul was never really given a chance, and to me it seemed like the was simply tossed away. Last year Reed Johnson was brought in, this year it was Marcus Thames.There is nothing wrong with Xavier, he's just another Dodger castaway who will likely move on and find success elsewhere. I like Paul, he's an incredible athlete, and it's going to be tough to see him go. While there is a chance he will clear waivers and end up back in the minors, the chances are very slim.
