In a very surprising move today, the Dodgers announced that they have activated Rubby De La Rosa from the 60-day disabled list. In a corresponding move Javy Guerra was sent down to triple-a until the rosters expand in September. Barely a year after undergoing Tommy John surgery, Rubby is back and his return will be met with open arms. A fairly quick return for one of the Dodgers more promising young arms. Rubby has been very impressive during his rehab appearances, in twelve innings he didn’t allow one run. Not one. Rubby will likely spend the rest of the season as a member of the bullpen not the starting rotations. The Dodgers didn’t have enough time to get him ready for the starting rotation before the minor league season comes to an end. Instead, Rubby will get a chance to get back in the bigs and do his thing.
